About Huntsville Gem and Mineral Society
A 501(c)(7) educational nonprofit for people interested in Earth sciences, promoting knowledge of rocks, gems, minerals, fossils, jewelry crafting, and lapidary arts in the Huntsville, Alabama area. Founded in 1965. Meets monthly at its own HGMS Education Center. Runs a Pebble Pups youth program and explicitly welcomes children and youth ages 8-18 at meetings. Operates a dedicated lapidary shop with a published open schedule. Hosts an annual gem and mineral show each October. Active on Facebook and Instagram.
