Geology notes

"Although the depositional environment of the green shales is somewhat uncertain, they are more common in northern Oklahoma, which led Dapples (1955) to postulate them as lagoonal facies. Few fossils are found in the shales. The carbonates, on the other hand, contain a fauna of disarticulated trilobites and brachiopods which appear to represent near shore, highly winnowed maring bottom deposits."
