Fossils here come from the Jacalitos Formation, dated to the Late Miocene (11.63–5.333 million years ago). The depositional environment is recorded as marine indet. Documented finds include Dendraster gibbsii, Securella elsmerensis, Macoma nasuta, Macoma (Rexithaerus) vanvlecki, Leporimetis obesa, Panopea generosa.
