About Topeka Gem & Mineral Society
The Topeka Gem & Mineral Society is an exclusively educational and scientific organization promoting geology and the lapidary arts, encouraging rock and mineral collecting, supporting field trips, and fostering public education about gems and minerals. Recent field trips include the MCM Quarry (Lecompton) and Turkey Point (Melvern Reservoir). The club runs an Open Shop lapidary workshop program on scheduled evenings and offers a Junior Rockhounds youth program. Its annual show is held each October.
