About Hui Pohaku O Hawai'i Rock & Mineral Society

The Rock and Mineral Society of Hawai'i (Hui Pohaku 'O Hawai'i) is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1970 and described on its own site as "the only 'Mineral Club' in the State" of Hawaii. It is dedicated to mineral and rock collecting, appreciation, and lapidary arts, welcoming anybody interested in minerals and gemstones. The club offers Thursday evening lapidary classes for members, and holds its monthly meetings at Makiki District Park in Honolulu. It publishes newsletters and hosts an annual one-day mineral and gem show each summer.
