About Chugach Gem & Mineral Society
Chugach Gem & Mineral Society (CGMS) exists to assist, encourage, and enable members to jointly and severally participate in the recreational collecting, cutting, polishing, and exhibiting of gems, minerals, fossils, and lapidary arts, serving the Anchorage, Alaska area. Members can participate in field trips both within Alaska and occasionally elsewhere, led or organized by CGMS members, though club membership is required for all club trips. The club runs workshops to teach rock-cutting skills.
