Welcome to California! The geology out here is incredible, so you moved to the right place. Here are a few great starter spots depending on what you want to hunt: - Hauser Geode Beds (Blythe): Legendary for desert geodes and jaspers. - Jalama Beach (Santa Barbara): Great for collecting agates, jasper, and fossil whale bone right on the coastline. - Lavic Siding (Mojave Desert): A massive, open area famous for bright red and gold jaspers. Since the state is huge and land claims can get tricky, the Rockhounding Map here on the site is super helpful for checking boundaries and finding exact coordinates. Good luck on your first West Coast dig!
